This is the device I use to locate poorly seating pads.

 

mvc-159s.jpg (21992 bytes) made of a short length of brass tubing with a gasket securely glue on the end.

tube and gasket are placed on the back of the concertina action box
mvc-165s.jpg (32169 bytes) Press the gasket against the hole and using your mouth (how indelicate, I know) draw and force air against the pad.  You will quickly learn how to tell a leaky pad from a good seal.  Mark the pad for reference, go all the way around the action box, then disassemble and correct the bad pads.
